What data do we collect?

In general, we collect the minimum amount of data required in order to guarantee best user experience and product quality as well as maximum operation and security. We are collecting information using the following tools.


When you sign up using Facebook, you voluntarily give us access to your profile information including your name, email address and profile picture. We will not post anything on your timeline if you do not explicitely do so yourself.


Cookies are small text files stored on your computer by your browser and include, for example, your user ID or some application settings. We use cookies in order to make your user experience as good as we possibly can and to provide some data for Google Analytics.

Google Analytics.

We store and analyze usage-related information anonymously using Google Analytics. The purpose of this is to understand usage of our products in order to make them better for you.

Log files.

Cookery stores certain information in log files. This information may include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and/or clickstream data. Cookery uses this information to guarantee maximum quality, security, and site functionality.

What information do we share with whom?

Except as described in this privacy policy, including the sections below, Cookery does not rent, sell, or share personal information collected through usage of our products with other parties or non-affiliated companies.

Cookery may hire other companies to perform certain business-related functions, such as maintaining databases, sending email messages, offering and developing certain features of our products, and maintenance and security. When we employ another company to perform a function of this nature, we only provide them with the personal information that they need to perform their specific function. We may also share aggregated or anonymized information without restriction.

Cookery may disclose any collected data if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to (i) comply with a legal obligation or assist government enforcement agencies, (ii) protect and defend the rights or property of Cookery or its users, (iii) protect against legal liability; or (iv) protect the security or integrity of our products.

How secure is this information stored?

Your information is stored in a Postgres database hosted on Heroku. We have implemented reasonable procedural, physical and technical safeguards to protect your personal information against loss, theft or alteration as well as unauthorized access and disclosure.

Change of ownership.

Your personal information may be provided to a party if there is a transfer of the assets or ownership of Cookery in connection with proposed or consummated corporate reorganizations, such as mergers, acquisitions or other change of control.


Cookery does not intentionally collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If you are under the age of 13, please do not attempt to register with us or provide any personal information about yourself to us. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under the age of 13, we will promptly delete that information.
